First, kwitchurwhinin'. Yes, it's annoying when someone comes in and destroys your masterpiece in a couple of minutes. You know what doesn't help? Whining about it. You know what doesn't make sense? Continuing to play the game is if people can't destroy what you make. For now, it's how the game is. Deal with it.

I agree that something should be done about it. I'm not a big fan of the private worlds idea; this feels like a social game.

I think there should be three permission levels: owner, creator, and player. If you open an empty world, you become the owner. If you open an occupied world, you become a player. An owner can change any user's permission level and create the world. A creator can create but cannot change permission levels. Players can only play in the world. An occupied world always has at least one owner. If the last owner leaves, the player that has been in the world the longest gets promoted to owner. Obviously this leads to problems such as 'the idling owner', but they can be overcome.

Also, I think people should be able to create links between worlds. I don't have any reason to think it would be fun other than "it would be neat". :D

Great idea! We should also have private worlds, tough...

One more thing: Up arrow should jump. The only time up arrow affects anything is when you're on the dot squares, and you already can't jump off of dot squares. Because the functionality is similar and mutually exclusive, it can (and in my opinion, should) be mapped to the same key.

Fluff, what you have outlined above is esentially what I was planning on implementing. I am however waiting for the Player.IO persistance API to get out so worlds will be persistant.

IE any player has their own private world where they call the shots. They can choose who edits here and their world can be visited even when they are not online.

This also ties directly into your idea about links. My idea was to allow people to create portals between worlds, thus allowing the game to turn into one massive MMO

Yes,Metalliod, why are you dirrecting threads here? Right now, there are at least three directed here, and they are also locked by you.Why do you direct here, and close those forums?PLease answer this.

I think she wants all ideas in one thread... For Chris, perhaps?

But I think that is not needed, and annoying by the way. Once threads are locked, no one can post there, causing the topics to drop further and further, until no one sees them. When that happens, other peoples can steal the ideas and pretend that they are 'theirs'. Because of that, shouldn't these topics be unlocked?

Other reason: All these ideas have to be posted here again, creating a HUGE wall of text. All these topics will be discussed in the same thread, creating a safe environment for misunderstandings. When misunderstandings come into existence, flamewars and trolling can occur!

Maybe the people who can edit should have a word above his head:
Editor
and the owner of the level should have on his head:
Owner.

Also I think names, in-game chat and lobby chat should be added. If this happens, there must be srict censors.

Another idea:

be able to make areas where only one/some specific player(s) can edit, thus making the "build you home/base/etc." immune against asocial players.
these areas can be set by the "owner(s)" / "creators", whereas every creator could have his own limited area to set areas & build in.
Some kind of automatic "area disposer" that creates areas for newly entering players out of some chooseable/creatable pattern (to leave room for aisles) would also be nice, and that empty areas are destroyed when the player leaves.
Every area should be labelled with the area owner's name, so you know who is building there.
The area owner can delete his area, but w/o clearing the blocks in it.

(sorry if my english is bad)
